It’s a few years after tomorrow and humankind is on the verge of a great leap forward. The Olympus Starbridge, a 45,000 mile high (72000km) “space elevator,” opened the solar system to human exploration and exploitation a few short years ago. Hammerlocke is the story of Sir Archer Locke, the visionary engineer who created Olympus and was almost destroyed by it, and his return to the scene of his greatest triumph on the eve of a struggle between the  forces that want to preserve the Starbridge, and the forces that desire its destruction.
